Ruger-Manufactured Rifles
Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. acquired the assets of Marlin Firearms from Remington Outdoor Company in 2020 and began manufacturing Marlin-branded rifles in late 2021. It is easy to identify Marlin rifles manufactured by Ruger because they all reflect "Mayodan, NC" as the location of manufacture (appearing on the barrel) and bear an "RM" serial number prefix to reflect that they are "Ruger-Made." If your Marlin rifle has these two features, the Ruger/Marlin customer service department can help you. If your rifle does not have these features, please see the section on Pre-Ruger Manufactured Rifles.

If you live outside of the United States and your Ruger-made Marlin firearm requires service, please contact our Export Department directly at 603-863-3300, with a full description of your Ruger-made Marlin rifle, serial number, and details of the problem you are having. It is very costly and time-consuming to return your firearm to the U.S. for service and we may be able to resolve the problem locally. Please understand that the export of firearms always involves U.S. State Department or Commerce Department approval and licenses, which can take some time to obtain.
Pre-Ruger Manufactured Rifles
We do not have the parts, equipment, or expertise required to service existing, pre-Ruger, Marlin firearms and we cannot honor any warranty offered by the Remington Outdoor Company. We hope you understand the constraints that limit our ability to service firearms made prior to our acquisition.
If your Pre-Ruger-made Marlin firearm requires immediate repair or service, we recommend that you stop using it and contact a competent local gunsmith. You can also locate the independent service center closest to you listed below. These independent service centers can help you with your ongoing repair and service requirements. Please note that Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. is not affiliated with these service centers and we offer their contact information as a courtesy only. As such, you will need to work directly with the particular service center to arrange for payment of any charges associated with the service or repair. We recommend that you have a clear understanding of any charges before authorizing the work.
PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
We are genuinely excited by the great interest in Ruger-made Marlin rifles. We are working hard to increase production and add new models but, for now, demand far exceeds supply. Please know that we are producing and shipping Marlin rifles every week as we continue to work hard to keep all our employees safe.
As a reminder, we sell our firearms through a two-step process to wholesale distributors. Because of this, we have no control over the order in which retailers receive our firearms. Typically, wholesalers will supply hard-to-get merchandise to their larger, better paying retailers first. Check with your retailer on their distributor availability - we are sure that your retailer will be able to get these high-demand models for you at some point; please be patient.
This being said, please beware of placing a non-refundable deposit on any firearm at this time. There is not a retailer in the country that can guarantee you a time frame for delivery until their distributor ships them the firearm.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
WARNING: FRAUDULENT WEBSITES - THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK
In recent months, we have seen an uptick in fraudulent websites that mimic the look and feel of Marlin's website and claim to be authorized Marlin retailers. Although we work hard to have these sites taken down as we find them, identifying them all can be difficult and we have heard stories of our customers being duped out of their hard-earned money by these criminals.
Please don't be fooled. These fraudulent websites often include "Marlin" or "Ruger" (sometimes misspelled) in their name, and these "retailers" claim to be fully stocked with Marlin product. They often accept payment through services like PayPal or various forms of cryptocurrency. A detailed review of these websites will also often reveal clues of their fraudulent intent, like a phone number of all 0s, a privacy policy that is gibberish, or FAQs in a foreign language. Sometimes an internet search for the "retailer" and the city in which they claim to be located will reveal that the business does not even exist. We encourage you to think carefully before you provide any information to an unknown online retailer, and particularly financial information. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Marlin's official website is MarlinFirearms.com, and the only online stores we operate are ShopRuger.com and ShopMarlin.com. We also operate our Ruger website at Ruger.com. Any other website that claims to be "official" or otherwise affiliated with Ruger or Marlin firearms is suspect and you should proceed very cautiously.
Please be vigilant and report any websites you suspect to be fraudulent to us through our Customer Service department.
